Presenting the "Supermarine" Paradox - named after the iconic WW2 Spitfire.
We have been asked on more than one occasion if we could do a Mod themed guitar. We decided to hijack RAF styling as did the Mod scene back in 60's London, but we wanted to do it in a subtle and classy kind of way.
Based around a Paradox Custom it features;
One-piece through-neck construction (Sapele neck and Poplar body wings), 25.5" scale length, 24 frets, bound Indian Ebony fingerboard, Lucem "Merlin V12" Alnico 8/5 high output humbuckers, Bigby B5 Trem, Schaller roller saddles, Schaller Da'Vinci m/c heads, pearloid "invasion stripes" inlays, 4-ply immitation tortoisehell scratchplate, high gloss RAF blue/grey finish.
Solid silver RAF "winged roundel" headstock adornment.
Jimmy Page style controls configuration (from Six String Supplies UK) -
4 x CTS 500k audio push pull pots (tolerance 10%)
2 x 0.022uF orange drop capacitors
Provides 21 possible different combinations.
All controls in down position - normal LP controls config
